The use of assistive technology (AT) with infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities and their families can support early learning and development when used during daily routines and family activities. AT can help young children participate more fully in family activities, communicate with family and peers, and play, learn, and interact with the world around them.
Assistive technology includes a wide range of devices and services, ranging from simple toys and devices to specialized equipment and services. The information you will find here is designed to help you learn about AT, determine what may be appropriate for a particular child and family, and how to incorporate AT into families’ routines to support the development of young children.
