Yes! Whether or not we could work intervention into the routine really is decided by the family so the more we know, the better!

Yes! If it is a good routine for intervention and they want to change/improve it, another great question to ask is what the routine would look like if it were perfect for the family. We may not be able to help them achieve perfection, but knowing what their vision is can be super helpful.

Yes, I think the key is avoiding assumptions. We tend to view the world through our own lens – which can be very different and sometimes not even appropriate for a particular family. Keeping an eye on our assumptions and biases is an ongoing effort for early interventionists!
